and you've played a mage? yes, fire is huge damage, but it's burst damage, and is not the best for pvp. frost > fire for pvp. frost is consistent. when you only have yourself, consistent is better than burst. when there are 39 other people in the raid, burst damage is awesome, because if you're not critting or just not doing big damage, there are other people to make up for it.
