first off, using a network bridge to connect to xbox live is completely legit.

second, according to bungie (and obviously they know everything about everything), "host really doesn't make a noticable difference." Their words, not mine.

third, if he is the one setting up the network bridge, then he's not going to be the one getting host.

fourth, no. a router will not work to force host. you need two ethernet cards in your computer. install the second nic card and run a crossover cable from the second card to your xbox. go to network connections and highlight the two LAN connections (one for the internet, one for the xbox) and select 'bridge connections' you need to get zonealarm pro and commview (those two programs work best.) find the ip addresses that are from xbox live and bungie.net and allow them , and block every other ip that isn't the person you're trying to force host to.

as long as you are forcing to someone with a good host, and you don't ip ban people, i see bridging as completely legit. get out there and play without worry of being cheated.
