I'd have to disagree with that. The UMP is very effective at close-range if its on full auto or burst and aiming for the head. That is the key to SMGs, aim for the head all the time.I like the UMP because it is the closest I can get to an AR in an SMG. I'm a spec. ops guy so ARs do not work well with my style and armor. Its got the longest range and stopping power of all the SMGs.
In case anyone is wondering I use the UMP with a rifle scope and a 92FS pistol with a high-capacity mag.
