I've been working on finding a new server to move to as we grow and I finally found a good place to move to. The important thing is that I expect speeds on the site to be faster and there will be a lot more breathing room on the dedicated server.
I'll be working on moving the site over hopefully later today with help from a server management company.
Another big difference between the old shared server and the new dedicated one is the increase in price. I'm not joking you when I tell you the hosting bill has shot up 15 times as much as before, so if you want to help out it'd be appreciated.
One way you can help out is by upgrading to a
GV Premium Member account for $10 a year. So if you've been holding out for a while, now's a great time to do it lol.
Doing so will grant the following:
Display a GV Premium Member image in your postbit
Have the option to display your user name in italics (go into your usercp to
change your display group)
View less advertisements on the site (i.e. the link pop up ads and others)
Be granted 5 times the storage space in your PM box (250 messages)
Have the ability to upload an animated avatar if you desire
Be able to set your own custom user title
Gain access to a new Premium Member only chat section in the forum
We should have moved to a better server a long time ago, but I'm glad it will be done now. If you experience any downtime today it's because of the move. I will repost when the move is completed.
