Advice and some Help with a Problem? - 06-09-2007, 11:24 PM

Alright guys, I've got a friend that's getting into GoW and he came to me wanting to know what it took to get good at the game. I tried showing him some tips like don't aim just shoot from the hip and try to get it to where he can have his sensitivity to high so he can turn and run lines but it's not working out for him. I had him run through campaign with me thinking it's be good for him to try and learn the basics of Gears like the escape roll when in danger and when he needs to cover and when to attack but he's getting that down pretty decent. Now he wants to learn to snipe and I got no way of teaching him how to snipe besides just having him watch and try to re-do everything that he sees but to take small steps. Anyone have any clue how to help him at all? I'm out of ideas but I honestly want to help him...

I think the best thing would be to play online alot, just random games, 2v2 if possible, so no one else can jack the sniper, and let him take it, even if it makes you lose for awhile, he should get better over time. Or just play against him yourself, and let him get the sniper rifle each time.

I tried to tell him that if he just goes into games and just work on it he'll get better but then he gets mad because he'll miss a shot or something. Do you think it'd be easier for him to just snipe on like the default sensitivity?

I ususally warm up with some Insane difficulty one a few chapters that allow you to achieve the sniper and use it quite a bit. (i'm not sure the chapter, but it's the part where you're in the rundowned town and at the end you have to take out a BUNCH of boomshotters in an emergence hole.. it's like snipe haven in there)

i would hate my parents if that happened to me... i would not allow them to take away my 360... but, tell your friend to call the 1-800-4MY-XBOX they will give you a refund on the points if you give them a good enough reason (for example: getting your xbox taken away....). Its funny how it says there are no refunds on the points that you buy or the items you purchase in the market place, but if you have good reasoning they may listen... it depends on the person to talk to.. if it does not work the first time... call back again, untill you get another person.

Thanks Baby Face, we took your advice and we called them to get the points back and his parents didn't sell his 360 either but they did cancel his account though.. Doesn't make sense how they did it because My credit card should've still been on his account if they cancelled theirs but oh well...does anyone know if you set a credit card to the account to get it back does it automatically charge the $50 or does it continue the earlier one?
