Thanx for the info but it'd be so much better and far easier to play the game if people didn't have to cheat to win. How can it possibly be any fun to run around and kill people with no challenge whatsoever? I mean that's what the campaign's for heh heh.

thanks for the tip on neutralizing bridgers. but on another note, isnt it kind of sad we have to resort to this? i personally dont see why we, the legit normal playing halo gamers, have to come down to finding ways to evade standbyers/modders/bridgers etc. it just makes me mad we have to do that.

good valued tip nonetheless

Well, to counter-standby you can standby right back. It has to be done at the perfect time. Right when the standbyer presses the button on his modem/pulls the cable, you have to do it too. This will either drop the standbyer from the game, or will find a new host. Or, you can bridge host away from the standbyer. Either way, one mistake will drop you from the game.

I have found a way that works most of the time... Normally you can locate the person who is standbying by their red connection bar. Have your whole team wait for him to hit sbye, and as soon as he does (before you go to blue screen) your whole team sends him a friend request and it lags him out.
This also works real good during btb, cause you know you always have someone lagging out. If he is in the red and has an x on his name, everyone send him a friend request with a nice long voice message attached.
I found this out the hard way. One night while being standbyed, i sent the guys a friend request to play a custom (redemption on my ground). Of course he standbyed, but when he did all of my team members got a friend request from his team members lagging them out.
If the process doesn't work you can always cancel the friend request and repeat. Remember their connection has to be almost gone for this to work.
