My Problems With FFA - 02-13-2007, 07:18 PM
Call it bad luck, call it inconsistency (that's what I'd call it), call it whatever, but I hate this!
Game One: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStat...&player=AngeIo I have a good start, I'm controlling the map (for the most part) and racking up kills pretty quick. Someone quits and Gun Shot ends the game ![]() Game Two: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStat...&player=AngeIo I am totally inconsistent the whole game. I get 3 kills, I die 5 times. The whole game long. I start to get psyched out, and play worse as a result. Game Three: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStat...&player=AngeIo Basically, by now, I had totally given up mentally. I was already sick of FFA, and it was using every ounce of self-control I had not to quit. Anyway, about half way through, I tried to step it up, I stated thinking through my moves, strafing, doubleshotting, controlling the spawn points, ect. But I still was playing poorly. This stuff always happens to me in FFA's. The more games I play, I get progressively (or regressively, rather) worse and worse. Does anyone else ever have these types of problems? If so, what do you do?

Your thinking too much about how you are playing. Just laugh things off if you aren't doing great, and keep yourself calm. Thinking you are playing bad only makes you play worse. Just forget about the score, and just play the game.

OK Thanks for the tips Mos, Quinn, and Leaky... that's what most people tell me especially Mitch and Justin. All they ever say is stuff like "Don't play at your potential, play towards it" and "Halo is 50% Knowlege, 49% Mental, and 1% Pushing Buttons"
I try and take that stuff into account, but my only problem is that I think too hard. I'm that way about everything. I'm a natural-born perfectionist, in school, music, Halo, everything. I over analyze EVERYTHING. Some times I can't answer a simple Yes or No question because I confuse myself by thinking way too hard about the answer.... I think this holds me back in Halo as well.

I tend to do that sometimes, overthink everything because of poor playing.
I just listen to music and go with the flow. Also, Angelo, did you just change the name of your account, or is that another one? I have the ax3 one I think on my list.

I try and take FFA like a warm up or BR practise.
Dont think just spawn camp everyone Shoot EVERYONE! Constantly throw grenades, even when nobody is there! Try to focus on what you are doing right rather than wrong! If you want some more tips just send me an inv when you are not playing with anyone and I will run through some more stuff ![]() |
