I see no reason to play Halo 3 again

Well, it's been a few weeks since I've been on. I've been really busy with school, any gaming time has gone to DOTA in Warcraft III. My computer crashed about a month ago, I got a new one with a really fancy CC and yet I have no desire to play H3. It's just not H2 or H1.

Here's a list of reasons why I find the game flawed or not fun (NO ORDER). Please motivate me to come back because right now I have none.

- Beatdowns (nuff said)
- Weapon reload times are ridiculously long
- Vehicle imbalance (banshee and its bombs come to mind fast)
- stupid playlists, seriously who wants to play team tactical besides the 1% of the online population who is just bored as hell
- stupid games even in the less dumb playlists. Thank God team rockets gets vetoed 99% of the time (HINT BUNGIE)
- can't mass invite FL in 2 seconds
- no clans
- multis are much harder, and to me it is not more satisfying to finally get a killtac or killtrocity. After getting a billion in H2, there isn't a rewarding feeling of even getting a jaro, which is virtually impossible in H3 unless you're playing horrible kids or have a huge power weapon. Even seeing a jaro+ with a sniper and BR doesn't make me think 'wow' because I've seen them in H2.
- the AR is a joke, rewards bad kids who camp and/or rush at you in a straight line
- same with the mauler, aka the camp and have no skill weapon
- the fact that there are even more camp and have no skill additions, such as the flamethrower
- montage standards are so high that nothing ever gets saved, after 2 months I had 1 'wow' clip... not worth the time IMO. Seeing a video filled with FFA killtacs sounds boring to me, despite how hard it may be. Footage was arguably the biggest reason to play, but now I feel it's just a huge waste of time since the rest of the game is so flawed
- lack of glitches, face it, double shotting kept h2 fun and was clutch if you could master it
- sword clashes make for a cool idea, but in practice ends up being retarded. Any swords game (and seriously, it's sad I even have to comment about sword games because they're so common in some playlists) it's always 2 kids clashing, a 3rd throwing 1 frag for a double. Yeah, that's fun.
- oddball and snowbound. Hide behind portal, rinse lather repeat.
- anything else on snowbound
- spike grenade (AKA jart) is powerless unless you stick them
- can't have 8 nades. Why was this changed? So we can have fire nades that aren't on any maps?
- lack of lockout and midship, even warlock and (for me) turf... why zanzibar of all maps?
- Bungie found a way to make territories worse
- the BR has a random spread again for no reason
- VIP is never fun, lets camp in the base with a shotgun for 15 minutes
- pay for maps yet again
- hayabusa much?
- gauss hog, hornet or tanks ever?
- spawns on high ground, how many times do they spawn behind you on the beach? Or you get spawn killed yet again on the beach?
- virtually no launch stick potential (although I hate seeing vids that have dozens of these)
- flood level in campaign is worst level of halo series
- overshield now powerless
- more I forgot.


Yeah, I could add a + list of things H3 improved on, (biggest being removing host advantage... well most) but in the end there are too many changes that ...

- appeal to noobs because camping with easy weapons is rewarded even moreso
- piss of montage kids because a lot of potential footage is no longer possible
- piss off MM whores because weapon balance still flawed, takes a billion games to get 50 and getting it means less than in H2
- piss of MLG tryhards because the maps (and other aspects such as equipment) are a joke for competitive gaming

Feel the same way.. Today was the first day i have even put H3 in my xbox in about a month and that was only even to talk to a friend. Hopefully with this update in the future it will fill more like H2/H1.. and the BR Spread really is just horrible.. same with beatdowns.. o yea and snipe shots registering... WTF is that about..

I understand your frustration. I agree with most of what you've said. I don't play H3 as much. I think the last time I played it was like a month ago.

To be honest, when H2 came out, I felt the same way about how you feel about H3. Then, 9 months later and a couple of updates later. I started to love it.

I guess...well...the game is fairly new and maybe it just didn't meet your expectation the first time around. I think if you just be patient that competitiveness in you will just take over and force yourself to play it. For now, I understand why you don't play it. I don't either a lot. Lets just wait and see afterwards and come back to this thread. Friends, forums, live, (montages maybe) will bring you back sooner or later. But for now, just ride it out and wait for a couple of updates. Bungie is indeed listening to the community as this game progresses. Then hopefully they will act upon it. (That's what they are saying in their weekly stories on the site)

Good write up Goat. I'm frusterated about many of the same things you put down. There really isn't any reason to play it. You should try out Call of Duty 4 tho.

I agree 100%. Try picking up CoD4 for either PC or 360. It kicks ass on both. The PS3 version is glitchy as fack.

I am going to trade in H3 for either Skate, Assassins Creed, Kayne and Lynch, or something a bit more entertaining.

I have no desire to play it anymore.

I agree with everything you put in there 100%
The only footage possible that comes to my mind for H3 vertecle sticks (Throw a plasma straight up in the air and come all the way back down to stick someone) and those dont seem like they will be entertaining to see.
I am gonna go with Rubber too and say get CoD4.

I haven't played in a month really either, except for putting it in for one game every few weeks.

I must say MLG v2 was pretty fun. The speed/pace was nice. You should try it for the hell of it.

And you can 4 shot the BR with increased damage! Huzzah.
