I am trying to get this on as many forums as possible because its getting positive feed back on the bungie forum, so if you like the idea look for the tread on their forum and post in it there so that the buzz on it keeps going. Team Oddbomb: both teams have a bomb, the bomb has a timer on it, only the person holding the bomb can see the timer, when the bomb is being held the timer is still but when it is not held the timer counts down from 60 seconds,there will be no way for you to know what the timer says unless your holding the bomb, once the timer reaches zero the bomb explodes, So the objective for both teams is to get the other team to drop their bomb long enough for it to explode and the team still holding their bomb socres a point, it should be played 3 rounds best 2 out of 3 wins, the round will last 2 to 3 minutes so if both teams decide to hold on to their bombs for the entire 3 minutes and not attack the other team they will both explode killing everyone and no one socres a point, both bombs will be in the center of the map or near to your teams spawn, and the timer will start counting down as soon as the announcer says "oddbomb",both teams will have a chance to rush to their bomb while preventing the other team from picking theirs up. you will not know when the other teams bomb will explode until it actually explodes and once again only the guy holding your teams bomb can tell you how much time it has left. you will always be able to see your bomb's loacation, but you will only be able to see the other teams bomb when it is being held to prevent hiding, and camping. if you waste time trying to find the other teams bomb to camp it you will most likely leave your bomb guy unguarded or exposed trying to keep up. this gametype should be played on smaller maps with 4v4 and at most 6v6. ***UPDATES*** To prevent camping and spawn killing: if the bomb is down for a certain amount of time (15 maybe 20 seconds) it will respawn. At the start of the game the bomb will be given to a player on each team at random. i like this idea alot and try postin this at different sites to help this guy get his idea and name out...it would be a really fun game |

the only problem i see with this game is the issue with "turtling"
basically hiding the bomb so the other team cant get to it. his solution is at the end of the round both bombs blow up killing both teams, but that only applies if the whole team is guarding their bomb. someone could simply superbounce and at the end of the round, the team with the most men standing wins. "but you will only be able to see the other teams bomb when it is being held" that would help a team from simply hiding their bomb by themselves... but whats the point of the indicator going off when they drop it, seeing that the only reason they would drop it is when you kill them. the game seems like a glorified assault game, where instead of you bringing the bomb to the other team, they already have it... you just have to kill them first for it to go off. however i think a modified basketball style game could be fun, like in ffxi. kind of like a capture the flag format, where at each base is a goal, and somebody has to carry the oddball and aim and shoot into the goal. it could be played like neutral flag (1 ball, respawns in middle once you score) or ctf classic (2 balls, if u kill their carrier, or they drop flag, touch return).
