New maps

Well how does everyone like the new maps thus far?

blackout is cool, but it depresses me that MLG will take out gaurdian just for blackout. i like both maps a lot


ghost town has good potential for MLG. in forge you can take away a lot of the parts of the map. making it smaller and another aesemetrical(sp?) map.



i played two games so far on avalanch.

i have already came to the conclusion gulch wars and hog wars are the only good use for the map.




what are your thoughts.

blackout - pretty much just lockout but i dont get a fun feeling from it. its weird. its just too dark or something i guess. i also dont like how you cant see staright from S1 tthrough under glass to BR1. there is just a wall there. pretty good map though otherwise. i like it.

ghos town - kind of confusing. fun to walk around and explore but i cant see it really being a solid map in mlg or anything. then again, i havent forged it. its cool for now though.

avalanche - bad. all it is is those air lift things that shoot you across. other than that, its a wide open mass of snow that you have to walk through. just boring to me

I have them downloaded but I can't play them. Matchmaking nor custom games. When I go to custom game lobby they don't even pop up there.

I have them on my hard drive for sure. And it's the correct file size of 411mb.

I tried to clear my xbox 360 cache but that didn't work either.
Look like I'm not the only person who has this problem.

Legendary Hiccups

Tuesday’s release of Halo 3's Legendary Map Pack had some users experiencing hiccups with the maps once they were downloaded. Let's take a quick look at some of the issues and how they can be resolved (or what we're doing to resolve them).

"Help! I downloaded the maps and tried to go into the Legendary-required DLC playlist and I am getting a message that says "'Maps not found.'

A similar issue popped up on certain Xbox 360s with the Heroic Map Pack. Rest assured, assuming you downloaded the maps, they are there on your Hard Drive, their existence just hasn't cached to your Xbox 360 yet. In order to find them, back out of Matchmaking to the Halo 3 main menu and then click "Custom Games" and select Maps. You should find the Legendary Maps in your map list then.

If you don't see the maps, you can try to clear your Xbox 360's cache: From the Xbox 360 Dashboard, navigate to the System blade. Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X. If you did it correctly you will see a message saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"

With Halo 3, specifically, clearing your cache will clear your Recent Games, Recent Maps and Recent Films, so make sure you've saved anything you've played from those Recent lists in Halo 3 before clearing your cache.

We've also heard of a few reports of people experiencing map issues related to something else entirely. While we're still investigating, it would appear that people who have the maximum amount of content items for the game along with Heroic and Legendary may end up having issues loading the new maps. The maximum limit is 50 screenshots and 100 total combined content items like films, clips, game variants, maps, etc... If you're at this limit and experiencing map problems, try deleting one of your custom content items. We're digging deeper into the problem but our initial tests show that seems to do the trick.

they ****ing suck. Bungie has peaked and it is clearly evident by halo 3 and every map thus far since the release of tombstone and desolation or w/e

Wouldn't know. I didn't see the point in spending $12 (or whatever) on 2 maps I already have, and another I could care less about.

Blackout: at first it felt really clausterphobic(1337sp?) but i got used to it fast, it made me miss lockout, bxr, snipes, double shots, short cut jumps(which i placed on the map later) also wish grenade launching was still in the game, it would be fun. also found alot of old grenade bounces gone and so it made me very sad face. I've actually gotten some rape clips though, nice no scopes and random stick, something i missed for awhile. honestly though blackout will never live up to lockout. its alright for h3 but i think it came tooo late and too offset.

GhostTown: z0mg so gay it took my 7hrs to figure out wep powerup and map spawns. also found that you can spawn camp easy with the sniper and bein on top with host BR. basically just one they made to make it a 3 map back. word

avalanche: ask sticky how gay team duals is on avalanche in a 4v4. i had host magnum and smg one time to i was other than that a vehicle carnage map, and i hate vehicles 99% of the time. notice i havent gotten a single no scope off the back or side of a human vehicle. also think that the middle opening is hilarious for some random nades and rockets. got pretty used to Bks rushing in and dying at the mercy of my enemy. massive fail.

overall i think bungie did ok, liek 2 1/2 outta 5 with the 2 1/2 from blackout, honestly just bringing the ability for h3 to allow rrx bxr bxb and other glitches just for blackout, and made it exaclty 100% like lockout, it would be awesome, and its entirely possible.

5 freakin games in a row, and after 5 games of lonely h3 i usually quit


so i go back 1 day to finally see the other new maps, and its down, bungie said its gona be fixed





i have yet to see any of the other new maps

another way to avoid this is to not stream pr0n from WMP11/Zune to your xblawcks. it helps =P

I only downloaded the maps because of OLG, that's what I thought of them.


Blackout, is alright, S1 - BR 1 is gone which is 100% gay. Apart from that it's alright but I have yet to play a good game.

Ghosttown, I thought was pretty fun tbh. I had some good games and by that I mean I went mega positive.

Avalaunche: Crap, too big although once it gets into BTB it might be good so I will hold out.

H3 Maps> CoD4 maps

Seriously, those CoD maps are all pretty bad, and I got them sooooooooooooooooooo ****ing much in playlists. I just deleted off my HDD.
