takin a break - 01-23-2006, 06:29 PM
The object of any video game is first and foremost entertainment. Entertainment implies fun and enjoyment, not the stress and aggrevation from competitive play. The moment you stop having fun is the turning point when one must put down the controller and step outside for a breath of air.
This semester im taking a full courseload of technical classes. For ever hour of class, Ill prob need 2 hours to work on projects. So for 12 hours a week, 24 hrs on work, thats 36 hours dedicated to classwork. throw in the 40hrs a week i work, thats almost half of the 168 hours in a week already gone. I just dont have the time for halo, and the time i do spare to play, i want to enjoy. Ill keep on as an active member of the forum, taking time to post when i can. Once i get my bioclock in order and everything organized, you can expect me on and recording for my first (and probably last) montage. Cold and phalnx have seen what ive done so far, and good impressions all around. If anyone wants to see what ive done so far, just drop me a line. Like i said earlier, and this goes for everyone: when a game stops being fun, when you start getting stressed out and it affects your everyday life, put down the controller and step out into hte fresh air. -Jordan

Back in the oldschool Halo 2 days, when level mattered to me, I broke three controllers, skipped school three days straight only to get 5 days In-School Suspension AND nearly failing grades, and lost what little of a social life I had. My parents also told me that I always seemed stressed/pissed. Looking foward to your 'tage, mayne. -- Hugh Downs

I really dont get stressed out or mad or anything like that over halo or any video game but i took a break in the beginning of november because i felt like ive been playing it too much, ive just started playing it again... i didnt get any worse... the first game back from my break i went 17 kills and 2 deaths in a team slayer matchmaking.
