getting banned

Has anyone here ever been banned, or suspended? If so how can they tell if you are modding? First let me get something strait, I am not a modder. I am in the US Air Force, and last time that I was in Kuwait I bought an X-box. This console was made to play every x-box game in the entire world. I purchased in a cellaphane wrapped box with all the papers. I had been playing on live with it this whole time, with no problems until recently. Now I cant even get on live with the console. Even if I create new accounts, I just says that the MAC address is banned forever, I had to buy another x-box!!!

yeah they banned you bc sumone most likely reported or wrote to xbox live about u cheating or modding..bc when u get banned for moddign they band the address of the xbox so u lose all privlidges..i never cheated or modded but my firends tryied it while i was on va ca and they were perminitly band. I think its an absolute bullshit type of system they use to get these ppl that cheat..its basically the honor system.Like if ppl lose alot to you then they'll say im reporting you for cheating and then u get banned for ppl being sore losers. i was suspended for this 3 times..I had a big 5 hours conversation about how didnt do nethign and they basically said well **** u i believe the other kids.So yeah thats how it goes.

I had to buy a new x-box to get back on, The thing that sucks so bad is that modded box cost me 300 dollars( American). It had no online cheating abilities, that I knew of. Can live scan your box to see if you are modding via the internet?

I got suspended from matchaking for cussing out some kid who standbyed me. Oddly enough, the kid did get suspended. Good job bungie.

I think the reason you got banned because you have a modded xbox. the mod-chips aren't legal to use, but people still use them offline because of all the capabilites it had. i remember seeing something on tv that said that youre suppost to disable your mod-chip when you go online. there is like a switch that you can install so you can turn off ur mod-chip when u go online and turn it on when ur not online.

they had to have someother reason, because i know people have left feedback on me saying i was cheating, and i have yet to even get a warning or suspention...

Same here, they don't just do it "because the kid said so"...the system either has to accumulate enough feedback, or they have to know for a fact that you actually did cheat, or abuse something. They're not just gunna get one call from some little kid and be like "oh...that sounds like he was cheating...BAN"
