Double-Shot... a necessity? - 07-26-2006, 12:45 PM

Ok, so I've been thinking about this for quite some time and decided to run a poll to see what others think. Please vote weather or not you believe the double-shot to be a necessity for you to become a dominant halo player.

I have my own thoughts and opinions that I will be posting when I get back tonight around 10pm EST. Hopefully this can spark some good, intellegent discussion/mature debates on this forum.

i wouldnt say its really needed at all. once im warmed up and playing good I do fine in FFA's and i couldnt pull one off if my life depended on it. I mean if you can do it then go ahead and do it, you'll hav e a much better chance at winning the fight but i just find it as another thing you'd have to get used to once its as popular as the bxr or bxb. But it will deffinatly take a while to get popular and used in every-day matches. I havent seen more than 2 Double-shots in MM. I see it only ever used in Customs

it is not a necessity, but i think it is a very good thing to know. i can do it every time in game, but there are people that do fine without it.

Verdict:

A necessity: no
A good thing to know: yes.

i don't think its a necessity at all. if you miss it w/o a secondary weapon, you pretty much give your opponent a free kill. even if you do it with a secondary weapon, there is no 100% garuntee that it will kill them and you can yy so that you can shoot them again. also, alot of people can't aim their double shot very well so if you know they are going to try it you can probably ghandi jump or strafe to make them miss.

Lets hope not for your sake Phalanx Just kidding.

But all kiddding aside, look at Dan(cF Legendary), does he ever do it in a game? Has anyone ever dominated him, no.

Now I think it is a very good thing to know, I loved watching Karma smash Naded with his double shot, but I do not think you have to be able to do it at all to be great.

Nah, a double shot is not necessary but should be kept as a option or a joker in ur back pocket, when you really need it. For instance, I only use the doubleshot when a guy is trying to out br me when he got first shot, or when I’m chasing the hell out of a guy who is running and is like 2 shots; I doubleshot the **** outa him to make sure that lil bastard dies before he makes the corner.

For me the doubleshot gets me out of tight situations,... situations where I’m mostly caught off guard from the side or behind, it also serves as a cure for lag in some games for me. I join a laggy ass ffa where you have to shoot the guy 7 times to kill him or when he is no shield a 1 shot wont kill him, I then start using the doubleshot. I also use it in games where is seems like the enemy is shooting faster than you when you got first shot. Yeah, you all know those games where is seems like the bastard is using a machine gun, and he is not using the DS. The doubleshot usually bridges the gap if you know how to use it frequently while under pressure.
