MLG CTF - Which? - 09-01-2006, 11:03 AM

Ok. I played some 'real' MLG games last night, and I copied everything from this link.

http://halo3forum.com/showthread.php...ight=MLG+RULES

According to this, on middy CTF flag touch return is not on. Also, you don't need your flag in the base to score. This is what the rules say, I don't care what it is... but a LOT of people believe it's touch return on and flag at home to score. I thought it was this too. I am aware that the link is from Feb, so that might be it.

Does anyone know the 'official' ruling on this? I don't care which it is, but I don't want people complaining when I play flag. Please include a link unless you were at the last MLG event and can verify which it is.

I do belive that a middy CTF game should always be touch return but flag at home should'nt be on I might be wrong, but thats what my memory tells me at least.

*thg here, .amp. asked me to remove him from the site, but to avoid messing with the forum database I simply moved his post count down to zero.

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.*

Touch Return, for all CTF except Sanctuary. Flag has to be home for all maps except Santuary.

halo2 now halo3 forum kids are (for the most part) pretty dumb. CTF has flag at home to score and touch return on ALL maps except sanctuary. in addition on beaver creek ctf, the flag indicator is on AT ALL TIMES.

reason for the rules was to eliminate stalemates and prolonged games on sanctuary (watch some of the 05 games on this map), and for beaver creek to encourage more teamwork so that total map domination is required for flag scoring. in addition due to level design, MLG felt sometimes it was dififcult to gauge where the flag was being held.

Ok, I'll change it if I ever play this again. As for beaver, my disc can't load that map so I don't care about it.
