My first REAL attempt at a montage

Don't be too mean it's no where near as good as some of the montages on here but please give comments.

+ nice spree in KOTH

+ some editing
+ interesting musiK choice

- too much 'meh' gameplay
- coulda edited some parts better... I/we didn't need to see you get the sword before the triple, just get the triple... and even then... I wouldn't use sword kills
- don't replay no scopes like that. Shots like that have been done a thousand times
- don't end with the clip you did. Pick something impressive so people will want to see your next. If you can't do that, pick something funny for the same reason
- pretty obvious you were just being the KOTH whore in that game by killing everyone on the hill and had zero time for way too long

So... it's your first montage.. it's ok. But don't be discouraged. My first montage was garbage in comparison to what I did later. I had clips with swat games and kills with rockets, no editing, etc.. but the more I've made, the better each one gets. The easiest way to make it better is just recording longer. It didn't look like you recorded for longer than a week, maybe even a day. Record for a month or so and you'll get some crazy clips. After that the best and easiest editing you can do is fitting kills to the beats. Whenever you save a clip, just make sure you get a little before the kill, and a little after so it fits easier when you start making the montage. Then it's easy to cut off the early part of a kill clip. Once you can get kills to fit the song, you can add some flashy stuff, but it's not necessary.

So...

1. record longer
2. get better clips, more MLG customs, BR kills, sticks, no scopes, multikills that are triple+
3. add some editing besides slowmo in a clip

BTW, this is the nicest forum for Halo 2. Almost no one ever flames.

I am DL now I will tell you what I think in a minute.

EDIT: Ok there were some nice kills in there and your quality is prefect I must say. To be negative, There are some momments of boredom in there were nothing happened or you obviously died. I liked the intro though and the music was ok. Overall 6.9/10

P.S You killed my old friend GrigGrog...how is that little piece of annoyance these days???

Cheers for the tips guys. I don't really remember killing the guy but he must of been fun to kill if he was annoying lol. Big thanks for the tips I will start on another over time.

the quality is awesome what cap card so you use?
RDKleagueFFA does that mean you're british/european anyway some good kills some not so good, i think your second will be better!

Yes I am british. Part of the matchbox360.co.uk community and occasionaly play with the RDK lot. I just watched your montage Goat and it was brilliant, one of the best I have seen. I hope my second will be better! Cheers for the nice comments guys.

Edit: My capture card is a dazzle DVC90, Also how do I upload to Gamingvidz?

well the way hosting works...you pm fraid and ask if he can host for you, send him the link to your montage, and if he likes it and thinks it should be hosted...ull get it.
