The Beta Tritage - 06-30-2007, 10:41 AM

A solid Halo 3 Beta tritage, the quality could be a little better but, nonetheless a solid montage from The AkWarrior, AlaskanAssassin and FearlessMac.

Enjoy

I liked it. Watched it earlier today. Good use of time. Brings back memories of playing the beta about a month ago. Feels like forever though

Wasnt that good.
My suggestions for your next vid:

1-Stay away from over used mainstream effects like Light Rays. You want your vid to be remembered for more than 2 weeks. Make it unique. Dont go for effects everyone uses.

2-Your goal as the editor is to make the content, audio and editing mold seemlessly together. That Lens flare you added on a sticky grenade did not only looked slapped on top but it was out of place. Lens flare is a very powerfull effect. The best work Ive seen with that effect was in Tricking iT2 where JRB was able to use it on 90% of the clips without you realizing he added that. If you are gonna use a lens flare on a sticky, tone down its brightness and make it follow the stick well. Preferrably use it when its a significant light source. This is a screenshot from a tribute im working on, notice how I used lens flares

Makes sense with the scene and doesnt stand out (At least I hope ) So do something like that next time.

3-Find a way to get better quality

4-The credits. Just because the fragmovie is finished, doesnt mean the entertainment has to end Don't put white over black credits, its bland, unoriginal and boring. Since you have little chance at hiding any gameplay, this is when you can try your most crazy effects.
The best credits Ive seen where from a UT2004 fragvid where guys would shoot this green ball from their guns and the camera would go inside it and from the inside, it showed the outside world through the greenish goo and the writing was imbedded in it. Im not asking you to do anything like that but just to show you that you should go all out when comes the credits

Hope I helped, have fun doing your nex vid and good luck
