Ok I will edit as I dl the montages/trailers:

FaTaL Sins:

-Nice no-scopes, sticks, frenzy, killing FoLLy a couple of times!

-Editing was good

-Good overall feel to it

__________________________________

-Halo-Pro.com????

-A couple of meh kills or doubles

-Some kills looked staged? I probably am wrong but people are always suspicious

-Quality was jumpy at times, pm me I can give you advice!

Overall: Nice montage, good first but some need for improvement 8.3/10.

THG's PDZ Trailer:

-Editing was good as always from the man himself

-Impressive PDZ skills for someone how has only just started playing

-Modesty is always a good thing
____________________________________

-Lagged a little in the middle, is this happening to anyone else?

Overall: Cant wait for the full montage, should be great. Just keep playing and Im sure that the end result will be awesome

Ey3cronic's Halo 2 Montage:

-Some nice sticks

-A couple of no-scopes

-The syncing was nice
_____________________________

-Quality was jumpy and hard to watch

-Waaaay to short, I think my trailer was longer

-Meh doubles

Overall: Not bad for a first try man. Just keep videoing and you will get more footage. Try and make it longer next time please. 5.1/10

ok well i just got done watching the vid....for one...the gameplay was 10 times better than THGs....buuuut...not only did THG say it wasnt good and that it was from a few hours of playing, he even asked everyone if we wanted to see it..so we had the choice.....

10 percent of that montage was synced, only in the begging, and the blan little titles....90 percent of the gameplay was just ther.....

ther really wasnt any edting done with the whole montage...no kind of effects no movement, barely any syncing, nothing

quailty and gameplay as i said before was perfect, awesome headshots

music--now i know that music is personal preferance...but i think i can speak for alot of people that the music was hooribble....it just sounded like nails on a chalkboard, specially at some guitar riffs.....just wasnt a good smooth pick for a montage

all in all....thers no way i would say that montage had better editing that THGs ....nooo way in hell....but it was still an alrite montage....
Sorry to but back in, but I must've missed that part of the post. But seriously, did you watch my trailer? 10% Was synced? Are you joking me? Watch it again, I had 100 times more syncing than THG did in his trailer, how can you say there was none? And there were NO effects WHAT SO EVER in THG's trailer, yet there was in mine. And you still claim the editing in that is better? HOW?!?! Sorry but it occured to me that you obviously did not watch it, tell this exact post to the other hundreds of people who've seen this already and you wold get flamed my friend.
Now I am officially done.

Well... since you seem so bent on your own work... I went ahead and watched your trailer (even tho I don't really like PDZ...or PDZ footage... I went in to watch the video for production/editing/music's sake)...and I don't know what trailer you think youuu made, but that video in no-way was synced... unless you call syncing just throwing your clips on a timeline, and they just happen to match up with either the first strum in the guitar rift, or the drum beat... I made sure to pay extra attention to the music, trying to figure out where you consistantly synced to the song... and after going through the entire thing twice, I found no consistancy.

As far as editing goes... other then stacking your clips and adding a few filters here and there, speeding up your footage... it was about the same level as THG's trailer. (READ -- Not anything mind-blowing)

I started to 'see' syncing in the game play/song when the kills started landing on the snair beats... but after about 3 kills, they stopped falling where I would have thought them to be the most appropriate... *shrug*... PDZ doesn't make for good 'montage' footage anyway IMO... the only thing that really stands out about that game are the 'HEADSHOTS!' and you can only watch someone shoot a guy in the head with a gun so many times...

I realise this isn't my best work, I made it almost a month ago, but I have recently made a trailer for H2 and will try to send it to Z soon, when he gets on, anywho, My point was that the editing I put into my trailer was better than THG, and I'm not running a buisness for it. Watch his again, what exactly did he edit in his trailer? PLease tell me, because I saw NO editing at all, the only thing synced was the magnum kill at the very begging, that was IT. The rest was not synced nor edited, just sped up in a couple of places, that's why I don't see how everyone here is saying, "Good job on the editing THG!!" When there was no editing in it. So no one ass kisses here? I'll let you decide.

And remember guys, think before getting your video edited by THG, becasue he just doesn't care, and I quote:

THG's editing in the PDZ trailer seemed to be lacking because of his kills, not because of a lack of editing skill. If you haven't got the hang of PDZ, it can take quite a while to get kills, which makes it hard to make a montage because everything's so lengthy. PDZ can be a damn hard game to make a montage for unless your one-shot or burst-shot is godly. You have to be able to get quick kills to be able to make a good vid in PDZ.

Nonetheless, Fife did have a point in saying that his "groupies" were being a little... "groupie-ish" in saying that the editing was great, because there really wasn't any room for great editing with the sloppy (no offence!) kills. You did do the best you could do from what you had to work with, but in the end, the editing wasn't special. There's nothing wrong with that, IMO, but the extra positive critisism wasn't needed...

amen. im sure if fif3 would have said it this way (as you pretty much have the same opinion as him), no flaming would have happened. THG can take constructive criticism, along with everyone else here, but to do that put it in a respectful manner like hitzel did here. way to be hitzel
