New to the site

After recently finishing my first Halo montage (using beta clips) I decided to start stalking EphruM to figure out how he got so damn good at editing..which lead me here

My first attempt at editing is pretty much as noobish as my gameplay. Yes, I openly admit that I suck at Halo. What do ya expect from an old fart with slow reflexes?

The barley, hops, and bong resin from my youth is still somehow trapped in my brain cavity, I guess.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet everyone and I very much look forward to watching your montages/clips/gameplay vidz. Here's my first attempt at a vid. Please bare in mind that I am a complete noob and don't expect anything like EphruM or Phalanx puts out. It's still in progress since I have a few more clips to add, but it's close to being done. I need to learn more about effects

I watched your montage. There were some nice double kills in there. It wasn't bad for a first time montage maker. Only thing I would say to help is don't reload your sniper after the first shot, if you waited to reload you would have had a few triple kills in there to.

I always thought of it as a good thing (reloading every chance I had) until I actually watched recordings of myself. It's very easy to see what you mean, and you're 100% right.

After watching some of the amazing stuff you guys have posted at SG, I figured it was finally time for me to come over and check out other member's vidz. There are some incredible pieces of editing (and gameplay, of course) around here. Very impressive stuff!

I went to the vid editing section and read Eph's "So you want to make a montage" post. Apparently it would have been wise to read it BEFORE I started recording..lol. I offered it to him to use as an example of what NOT to do...lol. Thanks though, I appreciate the kind words.
