iPod help

When I plug my iPod into my PC it just doesn't do anything. Nothing shows up that it is attached to the drive or anything. It's almost like my USB cord has took a dive on me or something because it's unresponsive when I plug the cord into my iPod and than into my computer... it's charging but not showing up as a device on my PC and not letting me sync it... can anyone help me?

borrow a friend usb if neof ur firneds have an ipod to see if thats it, thats the only advice i can come up with sorry

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.
