zomg! a recipe - 08-20-2007, 11:33 PM
as some of you might know, im studying to go into culinary school. one of the things we work on doing is taking a simple recipe, tweaking it to make it better, and our own. So, i'v finished tweaking my first one. since i wont do anything with it, i thought id share. btw, all females seem to enjoy this recipe alot
Shit you need oven(lol) Crust: 2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Powdered Sugar 1 Cup Un-Salted Butter Melted (2 sticks) Filling: 4 Eggs 1/3 Cup Lemon Juice 2 Cups Sugar 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder 1/4 Cup Flour 3 Tablespoons Lime Juice Juice of 1 Lemon Zest of One Lemon (outside) Crust: Preheat oven to 350. Combine 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 cups flour. slowly add the cup of melted butter, until its all incorporated. (the mixture should be a greasy dough) Grease the bottom of a 5x18 pan. push mixture into bottom to form a crust. bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Filling Keep oven @ 350. Beat 4 eggs until light. (about 3 minutes of constant whisking). next add sugar, baking soda, and 1/4 cup flour to eggs. combine until there are no lumps. Next add 1/3 cup lemon juice, juice of one lemon, zest of one lemon, and 3 tablespoons of lime juice. incorporate all.pour onto crust, bake @ 350 for 30 minutes. let cool COMPLETLY before attempting to remove from pan. (turning it upside-down and hitting the bottom should do the trick) cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar. enjoy these arent super sweet, which is why i like them. if you like them more lemony, add more zest, if you like them more tart, add more lime juice, not lemon. if you have any problems pm me. until then... enjoy! also, if this is something yall like, ill post more recipes lol im gonna get flaaaaaaamed for gayness +8 for food
