What's everyone thoughts on Pot. Do you think it should be legalized or what? Have you ever smoked it before?

I'll put my personal opinions in here later as this thread either grows or closes. Just was curious on how everyones thoughts where about this.

I don't think it should be legal, but I could understand why people would want it legallized.
I've never smoked it, don't plan on it because I've really seen it mess people up. I lead a pretty healthy life so why ever risk it.

ive done it, and yeah, its fun, but it shouldn't be legalized.

my reason is because just because it is fun, and cool to some people, doesn't mean its worth legalizing. its not safe, it causes accidents to happen, and it seriously messes up your memory.

i understand where people come from saying that it should become legal. because it comes from the ground, and its pure. thats bullshit. people add all kinds of shit in weed to get a better "high" formaldahyde, ammonia, crack. people could put almost anything in it and you would never know. Also, some people say that drugs should be legal, to lower crime rate because most crimes are drup motivated. This makes sense because the governement could regulate the distribution of whatever the substance, but the fact of the matter is, the substances will still be just as addicitive. and if people are poor, they will do whatever they have to do to get more, which wouldn't matter if the substances were legal, or illegal.

whatever, do you people see where im coming from. im not trying to be your health teacher, but it just doesnt make sense to make these drugs legal. we will have the same problems. Also, the us governement will be supporting the growing, and distributing of work done by millions of underage-migrant workers. Which actually wouldnt be a far leap for the government seeing over 83% percent of out market is from outside of the us, including china, japan, indonesia, mexico, india, which all employ underage workers, for absurd wages. the granddaddy of them all? the diamond industry. i wont even get started. watch blood diamond.

in conclusion,

drugs should stay illegal, because if they were legalized, the only thing that would change is that instead of the government spending billions of dollars stopping it, they would make billions of dollars. (just like the tobbacco industry)

Let's just put it this way. There would be no economical struggles ever if the government distributed all and any types of drugs. Even if they dont sell it, the people are still going to break the law and do it... I say legalize every drug, but control the amount a week, month or year that is given. That's a way to make money for the government, rather than oil even though that industry brings in a TON.

Are you serious? Ever heard of Angel Dust? I dont think you want people getting Angel Dust period, much less from our govt. Also psycological drugs? We dont need those either.

Legalizing every drug would have the potential to remove alot of the gang activity around them since you don't need to sneak them into the country, and do all other sorts of crazy shit to get them in. I don't know if every drug should be legalized, but I think marijuana should. I don't really see a strong enough reason for it ot be illegal. I mean, look at cigarettes and alcohol, both damage people, but the government doesn't ban them. The fact is, people are going to get the drugs one way or another, and by controlling it at least you know where it is coming from and who the money is going to(although with corruption in the government, I don't really know if the second part holds up that well).
