Don't get a laptop, you can't upgrade them much beyond RAM so you're stuck with what you bought. Plus you can get more machine for less money in a desktop.

If your main interest is in gaming get a single core processor, they will outperform the dual-cores when it comes to single application operations. If your main interest is in producing porn you might consider a dual-core machine so you can capture, render, and edit video while doing other tasks. (but you dont need a dual core machine to make a montage).

I say this because the sales guy might try to talk you into a dual core machine that you don't really need.

General tips:

• RAM is good, the more RAM the better
• Don't let the clock speed on the CPU fool you into thinking it's a better machine, a slower AMD will perform similar to a faster Intel.
• Not all video cards are created equal. ATI and NVIDIA are processors much like AMD and Intel, if you are not careful you can end up with an ATI/NVIDIA chip on a really cheap board.

Custom build it man!
You could either learn how to build or take it to a computer store and have em build it for you but YOU should order all the parts and components.

1. Cheaper IMO
2. You know exzactly what you are getting
3. Easily upgradable
4. Can pimp it out if you choose to
