help me!?!?! please? - 07-08-2006, 09:14 AM
So I have been having problems with my internet connection. I have been red bar during halo games, and my internet has been slow as shit for my computer. So this morning i decided to reset my router and modem. I unlplugged both and reset them. So my computer is now running a tiny bit faster, but now my xbox can not find my IP address on my computer. Im kind of lost as what to do next, so if anyone has any ideas im welcome to them. Also I know im going to have to call my internet provider because my connection since I moved into my new house has gotten worse and worse.
Sincerely, FoLLY

1. Set IP Address to "Manual"
2. Make IP Address blank 3. Set IP Adress to "Automatic" 4. Go 'back' to the main "Network Settings" menu 5. Select 'Connect' what this does it clears the IP that the xbox has stored in the memory. Setting it blank gives it an invalid IP... thus, when you try to 'connect' your xbox will automatically configure a new IP. At this point, if it finds and IP and connects to xbox live, you are all set. If it does not... you should get an error that gives a little better idea as to what the issue is. If its an error with the DNS servers, you can try the same method above ... obviously making the DNS servers blank. Hope it helps
