Obviously the effect wasnt as immediate in the UK as it was in the US allthough over 100 Brits did get killed. I remeber te day though, it was one of my first days of High School. I was walking past a group of teachers that were saying something about NewYork gettings attacked. I thought that it must have been false, ever snce I was a kid I had loved seeing the big city and the huge difference between it and my home town. I got a horrible shiver down my spine even though I knew nothing of great detail of the attacks.
I got home and my Mum/Mom said that two towers had ben hit in the USA. I watched the buildings come down and I thought "This is a new era, what a tragedy"

The eriee thing about the connection between 7/7 and 9/11 is that I was walking past the exact same spot in the hig school walkway when I hear that London had been attacked.

Sorry for any missspelling but I am in a Hotel with a wireless keyboard which doesnt work quite as well as you would think it would.

I had 2 uncles that were in the NYC fire department at the time of the attacks. My one uncle had to be at the site for a month straight to move debree (sp) and look for people. He actually found a person in the rubble and got them out just before some of the building collapsed again.

something similar happened to my uncle.....he was on his way to a meeting on the 53rd floor of the WTC but on the way there he spilled coffee on himself so he went back home to change

I was a sophmore in high school that year.
My first class I was in, it was just rumors "A plane crashed into the WTC, maybe just a small plane"...
Next class, we turned on the tv and we see smoke coming out. Quicly after that we see the next plane hit. Everybody was in disbelief, very sad day
After both towers fell my next class was up and school continued.
I got home and watched tv like many americans for a long time.
My dad talked to me saying it's "Another Pearl Harbor"

September 11 2001.

Go see World Trade Center! Very, very good! Makes me appreciate once again the courage of the fire fighters and police officers who went into the doomed towers

ive wanted to see WTC, not for enjoyment but because i just like to see how people will react in those kind of times. very "role model"ish to me. i saw united 93 and it was just the saddest movie ive ever seen. by the credits you could hear people around you crying.

my idea about that 30% is this:
they were people who had their close relatives die from it, and they were too saddened from thinking about it so they decided to never remember it

and i remember it.. 4th grade science class, then we leave to and the teacher turns the tv on to a news report, one of the girls went to the office crying because her dad was on his way to NY, but this was before we learned that the planes were originally intended in diff places

i remember it.. 2001... i remember the last part of thee day exacly. I was in grade 4. We were doing art and crafts, and the P.A system came on "sorry for the interupion, something absolutely terrible has just happened. Just recently, 2 planes where hi jacked in NY and flown right into the world trade centers." thats all i can really remember off the P.A system. Then, (my mom being very very paranoid) came to the school like 2 minutes later and picked me up and we ran home. I was soooo confused, i didnt know what happened? What the hell were the "world trade centers"? I kept trying to ask my mom, but she kept on saying, "Dylan! Not now!"

We finally got home, and she told me all about it. I remember exacly that i ran up in my room and started to cry because all i knew was that my moms uncle (THE FUNNIEST GUY IN THE WORLDDDDD for his age, hes 82) lived in NY, near the plane crash site. So i kept thinking he was dead, i love this guy, hes so nice aqnd stuff too. Well anyways she told me that he didnt die later on when i calmed down and everything was ok. The next morning i woke up (and i still didnt really know exacly what the world trade centers were, and how important they were) and i rememer drinking hot chocolate and looking at the new with my dad and saying "this is still going on?"

5 years, almost 6. It still is...
