Halo 3 plays more like Halo 1

In this week's Bungie Update, content manager Frank O'Connor sheds new light on Halo 3's single player Campaign mode.

"I have been playing through Campaign mode purely for kicks. Exploring, in fact. There's lots of the feel of the original Halo, where you'll find yourself in a huge (dangerous) and intrinsically fascinating environment and just want to go tool around and check things out.

At this stage in development, the encounters are very carefully placed. Sometimes that means you're in frantic firefights (on a significantly bigger scale than in Halo 2) but there's also time for exploratory reflection and the, 'Oooh, maybe I can climb up there and check that thing out,' sort of play.

Don't get me wrong. It's not GTA - it's still Halo, but there's a bigger feeling scope to some of these levels that has me reminiscing about the original game."

Although no finite details were revealed, any news on Halo 3 is still good news.

i like this news because i really like Halo 1 Campaign and really disliked Halo 2 campaign, i saw the AR in the trailer maybe some old weapons are coming back? we can only hope

I keep watching the trailer and it looks like its the AR body, with a BR nozzle.

Anyways, I do like the news about it being more like the H1 campaign(sp?). The H2 campaign was pretty much boring.

halo 1 lacked two things graphics and xbl and if it had those things how many people would play halo 2?

Yeah I was having a conversation with Vendetta's bro today on xbl and I wont say the source but lets just say Halo 3 is going to be much more like Halo 1 Yaaaah thats all I can say. Good read btw.

yh i was in that conversation and vendetta's bro gave us some information about halo3 and how its like halo 1 .... the weapons

Me. Halo 1 MP is to easy. I think its repetitive also, the pistol is so boring and weak compared to the BR. I would like to have both in the game, but only if the pistol was like a 6 shot kill instead of 3 shot kill.

I still love Halo ce, but its nothing on halo 2.

i totally agree, a 3 shot pistol is cheap if a rifle takes 4 shots and 12 bullets

they should make the pistol a power weapon like in place for the shotgun and still let it 3 shot... that would pwn

play me and my friends and tell me h1 is still "easy"

but in the halo 3 trailor it wasn't the AR. im sure somewhere on bungie im sure you can still find it, but they said that is wasn't it. as for my expectations for halo 3.... im just hopeing bungie doesn't **** it up
