Anchorman had a huge impact on the US. Sports center anchorman impersonating Ron Burgandy. The Big huge black guys that fills in for jim Rome when he is out, says you stay classy San Diego as his closing 1 liner. Everyone quotes Anchorman 1 liners all the time, it was one of the best movies ever not just best comedey's. How many other movies can take West Side story refferences (You youngins dont even know what west side story is) and make it fit the movie. any movie that uses west side story and still rocks out is a great movie.

Talledega nights I just saw again yesterday and its simply amazing. It unbelievable how Well Will Farrel addapts to his character. He actully makes you believe him.

your so right! anchorman was far more than hilariouse one liners, will ferrel has a way of making movies impact every day life (Old School) him on snl is probably one of the funniest things youll ever see.

and series of unfortunate events was lowered to a younger audience rather than the target audience of the books. which is unfortunate cuz the books werent bad at all.

batman begins was pretty good. one of the few comic book adaptations that actually has some depth.

napoleon dynamite is not really funny. i thought the guy was seriously retarded and thought the movie was fairly mean making fun of retarded kids, until i read it was directed by mormons. it's just not funny.

anchorman is funny, but i've never watched it again.

scarface is amazing. perhaps you feel this way because of all the gangster movies you've watched, but scarface really pioneers the genre; al pacino is so over the top and i'll agree that it's slightly overracted, but it DEFINES the the modern gangster flick, so it's good.

memento i thought was really good. i've seen it 4 or 5 times. it works well, becasue the backwards story isn't just a gimmick, it reflects how the person actually would be thinking if such a thing were to happen to him. it's more than just going 'backwards', since the narrator is a not a dependable (credible) source for information, yet he is dictating the story. i think its quite interesting, and really good. it's an indie film, so i guess most people won't like it, and i suppose if you watch movies only for entertainment, i could see why you would not like it.

my picks for overrated films: napoleon dynamite, donnie darko (i think its a good movie, but a shitty concept; i know i'll get heat for this one), moulin rouge, chicago, richard gere films.

i remember when it came out and my friends were goin crazy about it so i finally rented it, and had that awful sense of disappointment.
