whos to say they only need one victim a month, and whose to say he doesnt just kill the person instead of simply infecting them? its very plausible that a secret society of vampires live underground with bloodfarming facilities worldwide

If you've ever seen the Underworld movies, then you know that the vampires control companies that create synthetic blood that they can live on. This would be a good counterpoint, even though it's from a movie and I'm not really sure if it's possible to create artificial blood in these times.

maybe not artificial but in blade they have a blood harvester that takes blood from humans little by little but keeps them alive so they produce the blood for a long time.
