I dunno... yesterday really ruined the game for me. I thought that was boring as all hell. Like, i didnt have ot use my brain at all. It was... hey, let me follow treason and wathc him do everything. Instead of actually being able to play. I thought the point of all of you guys making new low lvl characters was so we could go thru the game as a gorup... not so we can go somewhere thats too high of a lvl area and have to sit back and watch someone else do all the work.

Thats part of why I like halo. Im constantly thinking and reacting to situations. When I play wow, its like... i dont even have to think about what time doing. its just running and talking, and running and talking, oh, kill this guy, then more running, more talking.
________________

Ive been playing for almost 3 weeks now... and ive yet to find a quest thats 'unique' IMO. Maybe im just not finding the right place.

Not to mention, I think there is far TOO MANY things that constantly change about the game. Sure, its nice ot have change. but i dont want to change armor or change cloaks and shit every 10 minutes. i just wanna a play the damn game. I dont want to have to play for 40 hours and be a lvl 30 till i can start really having fun. This is really the reason i dont like RPGs. they take far too much time/effort till you can finally start having fun

like yesterday, i was trying to catch up to elmo and ephrum and smeagz and shit. i ended up making one false move and i ended up down some cliff having to swim around for literally an hour, drowning like 10 times and finally smeagz was just like 'hearth out'. Ive been playing for however long and hd no idea what he was talking about because the game never explained what my hearth thing was. all i knew was it was something i couldnt sell to some guy.

If I were you, i'd steer clear of making such posts until people around here know you. The WoW vs Halo debate has been long going, and this is one of the first, intelligent conversations about it. Posts like yours contribute NOTHING to the discussion and should be ignored/deleted (much like has already happened)

well..you dont have to play the same 5 maps on halo....and the way i see it, every single game on teh same 5 maps is completly different from the game before

no game is the same, something crazy usually happens every game, and the game keeps your attention.....the outcome of the game is up to you and your decisions

its not like, run to p2, kill treason 5 times, and you win.....

and besides MM levels..halo has a very small addiction level compared to WOW..so your not guaranteed to be playing it 24 7 trying to beat that 1 quest, or trying to achieve some level that takes an insane amount of time to achieve.

and RPG games are RPG games.....iv had an expierence with a couple, iv actually played wow for about an hour, just to make sure im not talking out my ass...so i know what im talking about....i probably know more about RPG games than most people on this site

well you can hardly say you know more about mmo's from an hour's worth of playing than someone who's played that single game for a year.

just checked your stats frank, what were you doing playing halo for 4 hours on a friday night? get outside

but your right, you dont have to play the same 2 maps on halo, but its what happens. but whenever i hop on, its always the same 1 map, 1 gametype (midship ffa). maybe im getting on at the wrong times and playing with the wrong people. but how about like, ffa duel wields only on elongation or something.

people would probably say "aw thats gay, its not even an mlg gametype" but who cares, i bet it would be fun. bring on da juggernaut games.

Regardless of your preference of halo vs wow, when you get bored with one, the other is always a nice change of pace for a little bit. the two games definately compliment eachothers strengths and weakenesses when you compare the two.

Indeed, an RPG is an RPG no matter how you explain it. Much like an FPS is an FPS. It all really comes down to what type of game you like to play.

Take me for example:
When it comes down to it, Im not really a 'gamer' at all, in the TRUE sense of the term. 'Gamers' like almost all games form all categories. In my case, there are very few games that Ive ever really liked and played a lot. Ive played games from many categories, and I'd say that FPS is my favorite, followed by RTS. I Generally dislike RPGs.

However, there are only 4 FPS games i can think of that I like and one RTS series that I like. Unreal, GoldenEye 64, Halo, Soldier of Fortune, Age of Empires. These are the only FPS/RTS games that EVER held my attention.

Nah... yeah, Smeagz and Hoax and Treason all have lower accounts that they use and level up with us... it's just that Elmo and I were stuck... we needed to complete a quest that was rfc (I think lol?)... and we were getting spaaaaanked by the guys in the cave... so Treason hopped on his higher account so he could wreck everyone for us haha, since there was noo way we would have been able to do it ourselves (at least 'til we hit a higher level)... but yeah... that was kind of a bad time for you to sign on lol... altho it was pretty funny listening to you get pissed off cuz you kept falling into the ocean hahaha... or when you took the wrong Zeplin and ended up in lvl 35+ town hahaha. Altho we couldn't find the 2nd boss (the only one we needed lol) the entire time we were running around in that cave last night, but then later on after everyone went to bed Killer Bee met up with us and ran rfc with me and Elmo and we went in and found him and killed him. Killer Bee's minion is hilarious, she's a sexy dominatrix style she-devil hahaha... so much of this game is so awkward and innepropriate haha, but so funny.

fo sho, to each his own. and even then someone could love halo only for the campaign and hate multiplayer. just like some people only pvp in wow and ignore the other 95% of the game. it just comes down to personal preference. but as far as addiction goes.. its down to the player himself.

some people will get sucked into wow and play for 4 hours and not even realize a minutes gone by, just as some people will play halo for 4 hours and experience no time lapse. time flys when you're having fun. how many times have you gone out to brads and seemingly minutes later the lights flash and its closing time. (or the abbey or whatever watering hole you prefered at pc).

addiction is a pretty big word to be throwing around in general. but you cant say "well ive played more than you, i know whats addicting and whats not" because even a sober person can sense the addiction in a heroin junky. but you cant sense it over the internet, you need to see how the person reacts when the given "drug" is taken away from them. an internet forum is hardly the place to point out people who are addicted, and who arent...

Very true statement. They both offer almost the exact opposite qualities from games.

As for only playing Midship FFA, I'm a cuplrit of that. When I just feel like playing and not caring abotu anything, I will play endless amounts of Midship FFA. The only person I need to rely on is myself.

Also, when I first get on, Midship FFA is ALWAYS the 1st thing I play. Its like I cant function unless I do that. Its not a warming up thing, its a mental thing. Like waking up in the morning. If I wake up and just immediately go downstairs and start my day, it takes hours for me to wake up. Wheras, if I get up, take a shower.. THEN go downstairs etc. I'm fine right after my shower.

Playing default weapon sets in FFA on any map sucks. its a race to the BR/Rockets/Sniper etc and then pick off all the people who didnt spawn close enough to them. Thats NOT fun. Playing team training where people quit every game and it ends up 4v1 and him hiding the whole game isnt fun. Playing MM and listening to kids talk shit and yell and scream and cheat is NOT fun.

Playing Elongation all duals could be fun, because then theres no advantage by spawning near power weapons. Everyone is on a level playing field... which is EXACTLY the reason why I like FFA middy so much. Everyone is on a level playing field, with the few obvious exceptions.

Yeah, I agree with the RPG/FPS/whatever statement for sure. I was never much of a gamer at all, the occasional Tony Hawk series maybe, some Mario 64, GoldenEye 64... but other then that, I didn't really play video games. Now the only two games I play are Halo(2) and WoW... I dunno, generally I absolutly HATE RPG's... like, I can't stand them, they're soooo boring and time consuming. And I guess WoW is the same, but I LOOVE online games, I absolutly cannot play games by myself anymore without getting bored and stopping after like, 5 minutes... that's one of the main reasons that I love playing Halo so much, it's such a fast paced game with a great online-interface/system.

But I dunno, WoW's just fun right now, it's so completely different and the online aspect of it is so huuuge that it's definatly enough to hold my attention, and it's definatly a nice change of pace from Halo. I'll agree with Hoax, WoW and Halo 2 pretty much go hand in hand, when you get bored with one, the other one is the exact opposite for you to fall back on... and then when you get bored with that one, you can just hop over to the other one.

So very true. very very very true. Mmm... brads

For me... fun lies in consistency of competition and keeping my mind busy. If im not thinking and constantly having to adapt or outsmart people, im not having fun. Dont get me worng, every once ina while i definately like to just chill and zone out. and thats when i'd play WoW.

But yea, I agree w/ ephrum in that I cant play games by myself. Like, if i get on halo and no one is on to play cutoms with.... i wont play. its too boring. When halo 3 comes out i doubt i will even play the campaign. straight onto XBL it will be

edit: ive re-read the past few posts and I sound too much like im trying to defend my reasons for having fun playing MLG games. I know thats not the topic at hand. I guess im just not used to actually having a solid intelligent, respectful discussion around here. Its nice.
