Blizzard needs to make a WoW that doesn't immediately cause addiction

As 'gay' as it sounds. My next few weeks some people are gonna hate me. Im basically going to be doing nothing but preparing myself for MLG Charlotte. Im not spending all that money to go down there and get shit on. Im gonna make sure I go 'ready to play'. I wanna make GV proud and hopefully you guys can watch me on VoD.

well..i try not to let halo get boring...right now i barely play halo, and when i do, i try not to let the gay stuff get to me, and i get my fill...then stop...and instead of going to another game...i usually just go mess around outside.

same with CS.....i get my fill of CS gaming, or halo.....and when iv had my fill , i just stop gaming in general......

is playing for 4 hours on a friday night "barely playing" ? id hate to see how much time is spent when you really play

my whole problem is the money, 15 bucks a month is not worth that game imo when i can have xbox live with ANY 360 game for only 60 bucks a year...

and the only reason i can see people liking it (dont take this offensive WoW players, cause this is how it went with my personal friends) is becuase they wanted to have "another life" i dunno i just have seen alot of people get "additcted" and i know this cause they play it once and now i dont catch them off of it

get of on the 4 hours thing! that is barely playing for halo... u can always do different things when u have different people on ur f/l, if u have abusedgoat on ur list on a friday night, u know ur in for fun!

Yeah, but there's really no difference between having an 'online life' in WoW and having one in any other online multiplayer game, obviously the difference being that in WoW, it actually is a whole nother 'world' on your computer... but what can be said for people getting ''addicted'' to WoW can go the exact same as it does for Halo, I don't even know how many people I've known who just never get off Halo, I know that that's been be before... where I've played like... 12+ hours of straight Halo 2, like it wasn't even anything. I know people who still do, who would rather spend their weekend nights inside pluggin' away at Halo 2 instead of going out and being with friends.

For me, games are games, they're something to do when there's nothing else to do... but the minute that something comes up that's either 'better' to do in terms of going out and having fun with friends, or something that I need to get done, I'll do that over playing any kind of game. The only thing that gives WoW it's more 'nerdy' stereo type is the fact that it has to deal with most-times 'fruity' characters, and magic, which aparently is 'gay' or 'homosexual' (not sure how lol...) But just like the addict thing above, I've known WAY more nerdy kids who play Halo 2 then I know who play WoW...

I mainly play WoW with Hoax, Smeagz, Elmo, Treason, and TDM... and those aren't exactly the type of kids I'd put into the 'nerdy' category...

I was about to say the same thing. Double-standards are NOT a good way to present your argument. Lol.

Me and my good friend, jeff, have this conversation all the time. Im a halo nerd, hes a jeep hick. On the site www.ctjeep.org he is the equivolent of me on GV. We are both just very passionate about what we do. Its what we enjoy. He enjoys spending money on bulding his jeep and taking it offroading. I enjoy spending my time on computers and being a nerd. We've both accepted it and we rag on each other but have a mutual respect for each others hobby. Well, he hasnt totally accepted it yet... but hes getting there.

PS: if any of you have ever been REALLY offroading, then you know its hella run. His jeep is nuts.

Indeed. Most of the time, I dont have anything to do. I mean, I work all day, then I go home. So do my friends. By the time we get home, none of us really wanna go out and do anything. So, I end up with nothing to do... and I go on halo. BUT, if for some reason we decide to go out somewhere, I will drop my controller and leave.

I will admit this though, I have before said that I couldnt go out because i had 'fag practice'. Yes, I call it 'fag practice' when I play halo with my team. it gets a good chuckle out of my buddies. But rather than saying i couldnt go out at all. I said 'im practicing from 7-9, ill meet you out after' or something to that effect. I will ONLY say something like that if i was already planning on 'practicing' before i knew about the plans to go out. i cant even count the number of times quinn hs asked me if i was gonna be on halo or if i was gonna be on to scrim and i said no, im going out somewhere, but ill let you know when im back.

in summary:
outside life > video games... but there are exceptions, like when i already told my team i could pratice
