Upgrading Account - 05-15-2007, 02:29 PM
I still have a few days on my 10-day trial, but I want to buy a subscription sometime in the very near future. I have been told different things by different people, so I need some definative answers.
1.) Do I need anymore software to play the game past the 10 days? 2.) Can I upgrade my current account online, or do I have to make a new one? 3.) I'm getting a new comp soon, once I get WoW installed on that comp, can I sign in with my same account? 4.) Can I keep my characters? One major thing is that I have a Mac, and it is difficult to find the Mac version of WoW in stores. The only way I have been able to get it is through the online 10 day free trial download. Some people have told me that I have to go to a store and purchase the game if I want to upgrade my account, but this seems wrong. If this is true, it might prevent me from playing. Thanks in advance for any help.

2. I believe you can upgrade your account if you add a credit card to it. 3. Yes, you can sign in with you new account on your new computer because Blizzard stores your character's information on their own servers. 4. You will be able to keep your characters. 5. The disc you buy at the store is a hybrid disc, so it works on PCs and Macs, you should have no problem there. If I'm wrong someone correct me please.

i agree with crusty exept you can download the full game online, its a longer download though and you will have to pay the 20/30 bucks for the first month as if you bought the disks in stores. but you may want to just go buy it at a store so you have the disks and you can install it on any computer you get/use in the future.

OK, I just found (on Blizzard's website) that I can upgrade my account online, I will be charged $20.00 for the first month and $15.00 for every month after that. So I don't have to go out and buy it.
I'll upgrade as soon as I get my new computer.

correct. you can either do it by credit card or by gamercard. credit card obviuosly just bills you monthly...less hassle/faster. gamercard doesnt bill you if you forget to cancel..it just goes for as long as it runs, but you do have to go to a store to buy it.
