Addons are ways to enhance gameplay. They usually make the game easier to play, or modify the interface (ex. Action Bars and Minimap) to the way you want. These can range from displaying enemy cast bars to showing loots that you can get from a boss.
Very popular addon sites are WoWInterface and Curse Gaming. To install addons, you simply put the folder into your WoW interface folder. To get here, you usually go: My Computer > Local Disk (C) > Program Files > World of Warcraft > Interface > Addons. You download the addon you want off the website, you then extract the folder to this location, or to an easily accessible location, where you can cut and paste into this desired destination. the only way you can cheat would either be a bot, or speed hack or something. And you get banned almost instantly if you use the 2nd one
