if i switch, what will happen - 11-18-2007, 08:07 AM

if i switch to xp from vista, what will happen to all my files, programs, ext.
obviously the vista programs wont work, but will all the files stay on my hard drive

help os greatly appreciated

Back up any files you want to keep and write down the names of the programs that you want to have. If you reformat when you install XP(which I'm guessing you're probably going to do), it will completely wipe your hard drive, and once XP is installed on it, anything added in the installation will be the only thing that will be on your drive.

so can i just put everything on an external hard drive and then import the stuff of of it to my laptop

Yep, just make sure to put it back on after you've finished installing XP
