If you have an XP install CD ready, boot up with it(you may need to press F8 or something like that to see the boot menu, or go into you BIOS and change the boot order) and choose to formate your harddrive. Then you select the unpartitioned space, make a new partition with the max space you can(it will be the default value) and select that space to install XP on.

-edit-

Oh yea, once you reformat to set up the new partition, you will loose all your data. Just thought I'd say that one more time.

Another edit... you may have some driver issues too, so I would recommend downloading the latest version of the drivers for your hardwear and moving them to an external drive/usb key/etc.

i would first erase the used parition or just save the new partition over the old one if it allows you to

ok
i just did it and it worked (yay)

however, i cant connect to any form of internet, i have a built in adapter, which the comp didn't recognize, although it says its installed, and when i tried to just directly hook it up to my connection, it also didn't recognize that either
