networking help please - 04-02-2008, 08:40 PM
Hello guys/gals...
I have verizon dsl 768 kb/s download and about 160 kb/s upload. Obviously I never get that and its not even good. But when I do get it, its not that bad and I can deal with it. Although, I get that very rarely, like maybe once every 4 months. Here is my connection speed. And I chose the gold pyramid (rec. server) ![]() Does anyone know how to tweak and configure one's networking settings in order to get their full potential? Please don't just tell me to get another isp service. Edit: I forgot to mention that I already tried restarting my comp and turning off my modem. Last edited by sheHATEme2 : 04-02-2008 at 09:08 PM. |

You people aren't helping me by just posting your speedtest results. If you read a help thread and don't have a solution just don't post in that thread. Is it really that hard? This is honesly why I sometimes hate coming here. I mean, I'm not frustrated and all just because my internet sucks. It's just sad to see some of you guys have to post in every thread for nothing.
(I know, I know, someone quotes this post with gimmage and everyone laughs...its getting old guys) |

Is this your speedtest directly to your modem? Nothing in between? If not, try that first.

If that still shows no difference, then I would call Verizon and complain. Say you are not getting the bandwidth that you are paying for. |

Optimize Internet Connection Speed at Registry Guide for Windows
You can try that, but before doing anything BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY. That way if anything gets ****ed, you can restore it to what it was before. I know verizon has something on their website that will do it for you, but I don't feel like looking for it.
