arcane explosion to remove stealth. cone of cold, frost nova, blink, frostbolt. poly, let your blink cd, do some more dmg, blink, frostbolt.

i think that's what it is. if a rogue gets you stunlock, mage is dead, no matter what. so aoe to remove their stealth right at the beginning and keep away from them.

COPY BASTARD! nah ven, mage duel start, poly, frost bolt, frost nova, cone of cold+frostbolt if u can get it, just cone if u cant, cold snap, repeat, if they stun you, blink, slow with either frostbolt or frost nova. and all this time while they are hitting you they are getting chilled from frost armour, which because they arnt an idiot have got a decent frost build. frostbite talent. % chance to freeze for 3 secs when a chill effect is applied to an oppenent.

no one has any chance of surviving. then maybe even a pryoblast if u need it. arcane explosion to mop up if thats still not enough. new frost mages with 1.11 are insanely good.

oh forgot, theres about an 80-85% chance to crit when they are frozen. crit heaven.

how a tier 2 mage beats a rogue in a duel.

let rogue stun, blink out of it, poly, pom pyroblast. cause lidirt critted me for 5k. i have just over 4k hp.

^^^^ finally someone that supports meh. i havnt dueled many rogues so this is mainly from what ive seen, but normally a pryoblast where they were last or Arcane Explosion. should do the job. btw i was more thinking along the lines of pvp not duel, as with a duel they will deffinetely stealth THE moment the duel starts. pvp they dont bother stealthing as much so upper hand mage > everyone else.

i dont lose to mages in BGs. my big fat cow body is hella sneaky. i hide in bushes, and pop out and rush (stuns you), warstomp (stuns you), and by this time i've taken out all 2k HP you have. :]

lets just say, more then once in world pvp ive snuck up to a mage drinking, get my ambush/backstab, miss a crit, and end up dying because of it.even when im up by 3k hp, i can still lose. its not so much about 1 class being better than another, its about knowing how to play your class right.

but your absolutely right. pvp in WoW is not about duels, its about massive chaotic battles where the team with the best leadership and organization will come out top. But dueling helps you with certain combos to know how to fight each class. Then when you find yourself in a 1v1 situation out in WPL you know how to win. Rogue is definately not a dueling class. Most classes should be able to beat a rogue of equal gearing and skill in a duel.

for example. a lock with all her cooldowns will always beat a rogue with all his cooldowns in a fair 1v1. but rogue is NOT about fighting fair, standing in front of your opponent, bowing and letting the fight begin. we're NINJAS OF DEATH! wait till that lock deathcoils that warrior who just charged her so u can then go ambush backstab, or wait for the shammy to purge her demon armor and detect invisibility. its not about fighting fair, its about winning. and hell yes i will ambush/backstab the mage grinding AD rep in wpl when shes down to <3k hp. cause i know that ***** is goin down.
