WoW WSG Honor Farming - 10-10-2006, 07:14 PM
This is for you WoW players that want to get a high PVP rank, i made htis myself and i know i probably left some stuff out, and hoax will probably correct me on a lot of stuff, but this is basically what to do
I've played a lot of games with honor farmers, i've got my weekly standing to 2 before, so i know what to do, I'm kind of going to give a beginner's guide to leader an honor train... A lot of people are going to say that playing AV gets you more honor than farming, this is somewhat right, the only time this is right is on an AV weekend, besides that, honor farming will get you more honor. So i'm going to start off with explaining what honor farming is. HONOR FARMING EXPLANATION Honor Farming is getting a group of people (otherwise known as premade), and deciding who is best for what in BGs (like in WSG, ms warriors are usually better for defense and druids are usually better for flag carrier, and in ab rogues are good node guarders, (farm for horde, stables for ally)), in most BGs, you win in very little time, usually less than 10 min. Honor farming is completely legal, its not against the rules or anything like getting on top of the tower in EPL or anything like that. It is best to farm a BG on its weekend, I.E. DON'T BE FARMING AN AB ON A WSG WEEKEND. It is best to be on Ventrillo or Team Speak so you don't have to type stuff out in the middle of a fight. The two BGs that you will be farming are Warsong Gulch (WSG) and Arathi Basin (AB). WSG is a Game of CAPTURE THE FLAG (CTF) where your flag needs to be home to score. First to 3 Caps wins the game. 10 players on a team. AB is sort of like Territories if you have played halo 2, you just try to control the nodes and get as much minerals as possible, you want to hold them as long as possible. First to 2000 minerals wins. 15 players on a team. WSG GUIDE For WSG farming you are going to want a druid for flag carrier, Warriors, Healers, and any other classes... those are the classes NEEDED for a group to work out, but of course you are going to need some more. The group makes a difference, but it doesn't make as much as a difference as leadership and organization. When you join WSG, join asap so the leader can sort out the groups, and give the leader the battle ground leader if you have it and someone else is supposed to be leader. The leader organizes 2 groups, offense and defense, there are 2 different types of basic defenses used. 1. Against PUGs (Pick Up Groups) you want group 1 offense and group 2 Midfield defense, what this means is Group 2 goes in the middle of the field and tries to stop their offense completely, shamans with windfury and warriors and a good way to do this, the perfect thing to do in midfield defense is to push into their GY (Graveyard) and camp their gy while healers heal them, it makes it really hard for them to even get out of their gy. During this time, the offense runs into the Opponents Flag Room (FR) and grabs their flag and tries to get it back to their base as fast as possible, this is why druids are the best, TRAVEL FORM! If you get hit by a hamstring or any ability like it, Slower Running Speed, Switch back to caster form, then to travel form to get rid of it. Just try to do this as fast as possible. Against PUGs, you will usually win 3-0. 2. Against Premades (other honor Farmers) you are going to want Group 1 Offense and Group 2 Flag Room (FR) Defense. Against Premades they are most likely going to be using this same strategy, Most Chances are that they will get the flag, unless your defense is Superior. There are ways to slow them down I.E. Mages Cast Frost Nova and Hunters use The Trap that slows Everyone down, at the flag spot (i think its frost trap). Rogues can also use Sap on people. Its probably going to be both flag carriers sitting in their bases with the opponents flag, just send enough people to go and get the flag (KILL HEALERS FIRST) A lot of the times in Premades Vs. Premades the winner will be whoever has the better gear. But Sometimes the better leader can win. This Basically Sums up what to do in WSG, You can do other stuff but this seems to work good until you find out how good your group is and who is good and Geared and what he is best for. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...gainstPugs.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...stPremades.jpg AB Guide Coming Soon

i prefer shamans as flag runners. they drop a earthbind totem in the tunnel on the way out and it's game.
as a warrior, i pop free action potion and run into the FR and grab flag and run to boots and drop flag for shammy. they drop totem and run out. get outside and ghostwolf. either way works though.

well freak left it off with wsg, ill pick it up with AB. First off if you want to honor grind, organized AB is where its at. you will gain more honor by 5 capping ab right off the start and only having 15 hk's, then having a 2 hour long wsg with over 100 hks. Thats why i like ab more. The game will end, no matter how hard you try to slow it down. In wsg you can turtle...and we all know how much that sucks.
join with a 15man premade, 3 druids as healers, priests in shadow form. 1 druid per each group. before game starts have a macro "1 LM || 2 BS || 3 GM", meaning group 1 goes to lumber mill, 2 to blacksmith, 3 to gold mine. everyone has to be on vent. call out where the alliance zerg is. Alliance ALWAYS zerg. That means at 2 of the 3 nodes, you WILL outnumber them. You will win the fight. If you cant win, regardless of gear discrepencies, you dont belong in a premade. Go pug wsg and farm kills in midfield with a team if you cant 1v1 every class. Leave one defender at each node (including farm) and everybody push stables. With enough pressure at stables (casters on the outside to fear/deathcoil/sheep anyone trying to leave, and do this with enough speed, you will 5 cap, even on premades. What AB comes down to is a mixture of teamwork and individual skill. In warsong its just 2 teams colliding. AB is all about teamwork and outmaneuvering your opponents. WSG i never leave a fight, i never let an ac go past unharmed. In ab call out on vent where the person is heading, and continue to your destination. But when you are defending, you have to be confident in your own abilities. If a t2 warrior comes, you have to know you will beat him, otherwise you have to call for help before he gets there, removing one person from a fight somewhere else. Never be a pussy and hold 3 nodes and wait the game out, always push for 5 cap. Even against premades who outgear you, being able to move quicker and smarter will guaruntee your win. Fast movement at the beginning of the game will ensure that you never get 3 capped on, with 5 alliance defenders at each flag. Another opening strategy is to send a team to lumbermill, a team to blacksmith, and a team straight to stables going in between bs/lm. This works best against premades. The teams at lm/bs will call if theres a zerg or if its clear.IF there's a zerg, the stables team can go help meet that zerg. If no zerg is called that team rides straight to stables. Capping their flag before they can get any of the other nodes will split up their offense, ensuring your victory at the given nodes. AB tips: practice dueling outside org against every class, regardless of gear. Have a mage friend make u some food/water, and just battle it out, win or lose. You will eventually learn personal strats for overcoming every class, so that when you do face a 1v1 situation, you know you will win. on defense fight on the nodes at all times. dont let the other team kite you away from the flag so a rogue can ninja it. on offense simple crowd control will win your fight. almost every class has some form of it, so use it. hunters trap, mages sheep, warriors fear, locks deathcoil/fear. the object is getting that node, do everything it takes to get it. have an undead or orc try capping the flag while a male tauren mounts up and stands on top of him. except for aoe's, this will make it near impossible for people to target the person capping the flag.
