Here is why the PS3 will "blow". First off PS3 isn't a major improvement on the PS2. The PS3 has blue ray...when blue ray hits so will the HD drive for the 360. Blue Ray and the HD drive will only make a huge difference (graphics wise) IF you own an HD tv. Yes with Blue Ray you can hold more memory allowing for longer and more graphically advanced games, however, the HD drive rivals if not destroys Blue Ray discs. The real question is "how much am i willing to pay for a game?" For sony to break even for the amount of work they will do on a Blue Ray disc they would have to charge $80 a game. 360 can get away with $60 because they are the only next gen console out there right now, their games are made on the exact same discs. PS3 will have to read about 12 different formats of discs which just asks for errors with the playstation lenses. Everyone knows that the PS2 has many errors with the lenses always ****ing up and it only reads 5 different formats!
Also, almost every exclusive game that was revealed for the PS3 is now coming out for the 360 or the nintendo wii. PS3 has already stolen Nintendo's idea for an interactive controller. Sony reps have already bashed their own system stating that "Right now we are just trying to keep afloat...after the huge hit we took with the PSP. Now we are looking at what people find attractive in the next gen race. We plan on giving them what they want." (Playstation Magazine). Blue Ray is to DVD as Beta Max was to VHS, it simply won't last. People want to play with others online, sony's system can't compare to xbox live so they know they can't charge for it. If they wanted to make a system that could rival Xbox live then they'd have to pay Microsoft to set it up for them. Microsoft nearly owns all of the Sony's resources as far as game developers, Hardware distributors and so on. Sony will have pulled a miracle if they don't belly up after the PS3 is released.
Oh yeah and the PS3 will come in two packages...a 20GB harddrive and system for $499 plus tax and a 100GB and system for $599 plus tax.
