on king5 news (washington news station) it said that the ps3 was released yesterday in europe but wont be released in america until november... is this true?

**** ps3 and **** sony. boo for blu ray & hd-dvd. boo for obsolete technology and sony's stupid proprietary bs. i hope ps3 falls flat on its face and sony just goes away.

Im not sure if the news is true but supposedly there will be a lower # of units shipped that planned. Like 400,000 for US and 100,000 for Japan on opening day.

europe, of all places, like, japan would be the first if anywhere

ok. no PS3 DID NOT COME OUT IN EUROPE FIRST. think about it wtf would a japanese company release a product in europe before its own native country (where its consumer base is the biggest). if anything europe would get the product last. in fact ps3 is getting DELAYED in europe and all PAL countries until march 2007.

its not the first time sony has overhyped a piece of technology that it claims to 'be revolutionary. you do realize that sony 'delayed' the launch of the ps3 because of blu-ray security concerns, a format which is not only an advance in obsolete (optical) storage, but a format that is selling terribly.

o haha and the 1080p & HDMI output that sony is touting so much for their ps3? they're not even going to include the output on the 20 gig model (only on the 60 gig model), and they're not even going to include the hdmi cable when you buy your brand new 600 dollar machine. sorry it has to be said. sony sucks.

All I know is that I saw on "The Feed" on G4 where a company was able to make a 400GB blue ray disc.. now if that's able to be played in the pS3 then I dont mind shelling out the money for the system and an HDMI cable. but that's because Im a balla ya know?

Damn straight, PS2 was garbo after the first 6 months of its release. And I dont believe for one second that sony is going to do anything with there new piece of crap machine.
