Photoshop Question...(Any sig maker would know)

alright im finally starting to make my own sig! Hey wait a sec... whats all that cheering in the backround? I wonder what that's for..?

Anyway,just 2 questions, does anybody know what the font name is for the COD Font? (yeah that sounded a little weird). The second question is regarding the "lining" around a picture. If you guys are dazed, confused and look like your about to have a seizure, then here is a picture with both, the COD font, and the "lining" i was talking about.. (sorry dont know how to put a pic direcly in, or if you even can)

i dunno what the font is but the line around the soldier is an 'outer glow' i think and you can do that by clicking on the rite layer then right click it, go the blending options and check the box marked outer glow, you can change the colour aswell there..........

font is arial i believe... to get that effect, choose any old font and double click the text layer and choose bevel and emboss. adjust it to get it the way you like it.

and slayer is right about the outerglow, just make sure that what you want the glow around is cut out and is not on a background.

Yeah I just used an outer glow on the soldier as well as the word Stunt. Then I used the bevel and emboss on the Call of Duty 2 words. Everything I did was really really basic.

sweet guys, thx. Also how would you do the cool affects in the bacround? Right now it's just black for me..

oh boy, ur about to pop ur photoshop cherry lol. how to make cool effects...how to make cool effects. go NUTS. literally, just draw a bunch of stuff and go through the filters and see how they work. Dont just use the regular brushes, edit the flow,scatter,etc. download some grunge brushes. go to www.good-tutorials.com and they have a LOAD of cool effects you can do. i personally dont like drawing. i like taking an image and manipulating it into a cool background.

another popular effect are scanlines. they come in many shapes in sizes. (horizontal, diagonal, grids, etc) subtle but a nice addition to signatures, u can find how to make those patterns at good-tutorials as well. have fun.

alright i have a problem, i did what you said with the outer glow on the COD soldier, it was fine. But when i tryed to do it on joanna dark, it wont let me. It goes on the outside instead of the outline of her...?? when i click the cod guy its layer 1, but when i click joanna its layer 11.. omg i just want this to work!!!!!!

you have to apply seperate layer effects to seperate layers. so if you want the glow on the girl, you have to make sure shes a cutout render on a seperate layer, double click that layer and hit outerglow

ok im done my sig, but how do i put it in? I hosted it on putfile... yes i put the [IMG] and the [/IMG] bu it wont work...???
