Why does almost everyone have these graphic pictures in their signatures?

What's with all the people having these graphics in their sig? I for one have no idea what the appeal is but I will try to keep an open mind with the explanations given.

Why not have something in your signature?

Besides, you don't need to see them, I for one turned them off. Makes the website easier to view IMO.

I saw it on halo3forum and I like supporting that site, and I also wanted to remind people to diversify their bonds. But more the first one.

people have graphics in their cigs so they can show off there work or it is customized for them indivually. Alot of people here do graphics here so why not put something they made into their sig.
