need help

I just installed photoshop cs2 and i want to just select the cheif in this screenshot but all i now how to do is select using the rectangular marquee tool. since he aint a rectangle i dont no how to select him only.
PLEASE HELP.

you have to use one of the lasso tools and go around the outside of the master cheif. its pretty hard to do and takes a lot of concentration and time

There's an easier way, its very easy, just use the magic wand, and delete all the backround around the master cheif, the magic wand just goes all around the master cheif, instead of having to use an eraser, its much quicker, once everythin is deleted than u can move the master chief without having to move n e thing else...
