Are you serious?

Did you read the prologue in my guide? I CLEARLY stated that these are the BASICS. Stuff that common movie makers know. I can give you a couple of more sites that have these similar ideas but it doesn’t mean they copied; it means that this is common knowledge. "Music has to fit and have a purpose" that is common knowledge, I know im not the only one that says it and the guy from MLG knows that too.

Its like if you go look on how to use Vegas 6's basics. The sites you will visit will for sure have the same ideas. Understand my analogy?
I didn’t "copy", I was learnt that stuff by scratch, 2 days before i realesed this guide on H2F, by Fei.

The study of Synch by Adamllis for example, the guy from MLGpro and I took the same source, which is in my post. Does it mean we copied from him? No, we simply adopted his method which is now universally known in movie making.

Get it? I didn’t "copy" seeing as how when I used to go to MLGpro I wasn’t into editing. This is what I believe and if people share that view and make/made guides of their own, then good.

i know who posted this originally on MLGpro. HCxWeaponskill has watched a lot of those CS & Q3 fragvidz and is really into video editing, and also happens to own the high end hardware to back it up. with that being said i would say its EXTREMELY likely that they both were inspired by the same source. in case you don't know weaponskill is a pretty good knowledge of all things game/tech related, and has the skill as a player to back it up as well (top 16 @ 2005 Vegas 4v4).

For a lot of kids, halo is the first fps they have played/ever touched. They haven't played CS, Quake, or any of the other great FPS's. The fact that montage makers thought they were doing something completely unique and never seen before (capturing video and syncing to music) is just ridiculous, just like the idea of pro gaming itself. It's been around for a while, and the the fact is that there are a lot of really talented moviemakers who embrace editing game video as their own way of showing off their skill and talent at editing. A lot of these are really cool considering how dated the graphics are in these games (CS & Quake 3 are nearly 10 years old). Q3 was THE ORIGINAL game that necessitated 3D graphics cards to begin with, to give you an idea of how old the game is.

In halo montages, i notice that a lot of people will rag on a montage simply because the editor 'edits' too much. Generally i feel that yes there is a line between overediting something, but that making a montage/fragvid isn't all about the player/gameplay. the editing is there to show you/emphasize some point of action or the utilization of an effect to show you perhaps the players' feeling at the time when he got said 'triple/killtac/overkill/whatever'. There's no denying that there is a certain degree of anticipation when you get a triple to qucikly find that fourth and do whatever it takes to get that killtac, and similarly there is something inherent awesome when pulling off a clutch objective play/killing spree. The editor is there to show that and to demonstrate how awesome a player is in a short amount of time. A minimalist editing style is certainly a style, but so many people think that 'having many effects' is the same thing as 'overediting' -- and its simply not true.

kool, I have only made 1 montage before today but right now i'm working on a new one although the clips are coming in slowly...so it might take a little while...

Here is my first montage...it never finished because of a lack of interest in the person who i was doing this for...

The quality is bad because i used Youtube to upload a 10 minute video...
