CS Movie Tutorial - 01-14-2007, 05:03 AM
You got the perfect kills in your demos, but you don't know how to get them into a media file?
This tutorial will teach you how to convert your demo files to avi. A good thing is to have a lot of space on your computer, and hopefully you have an external hardrive. We will use a program called Videomach to convert our clips. Ok, you got the perfect kill yesterday. It on dust2, you were running at CW in the 8th round. Remember when you did that kill, that is a good thing as you will either have to watch through your demo or you can go directly to when it happend. In the CS console write viewdemo demoname Remove all annoying things like fps, chat text etc with writing this in the console. * hud_saytext 0 * net_graph 0 * hud_centerid 0 Now when you have get to your clip, a bit before it. Write startmovie filename FPS In my case it is startmovie intronuke 30 It'll lag really much, its because its saving so many pictures. Just ignore the lag, and when the kill is over write endmovie in the console. Now you will have alot of images in your cstrike folder, its 30 images per second as you set the fps to 30. A good thing now would be to move all the images to an external hardrive. Now open Videomach that I asked you to download in the beginning, open up all your images. ![]() Ok, now you have to set your settings for it. You can change them through clicking on the floppy symbol in the middle. Use the default settings, pick where you want to save it to and give it a name. ![]() Go to the video tab and choose size, I'm using a DivX codec for this clip. It'll make the clip small and with pretty good quality. Click Configure when you have chosen the codec, and change the bitrate to 3000. ![]() Its now time to start render the clip, click on the Save button that you can see in the Output Settings window.
