But that's EXAACTLY the thing, all of us ''real'' editors that people come to are the ones who have spent WAAAY too much time getting ourselves to the level of 'today's standard'... which honestly, I don't even think that I'm at... well, beyond Halo 2 editing anyway... I only like 2 or 3 of the ''big name'' Halo 2 editors, the rest blow nuts.

Anyone today who doesn't edit their own montage is lazy... 'I realized I wasn't a good editor'... c'mooon, it takes a looot of time and trial and error to become a good editor... to figure out how to use effects, and more importantly WHERE to use effects. But for the time I honestly put into 3D and editing now days... like I said before, I'm just not doing free-bees, they're a waste of my time. The only time I'd even concider it if it came from someone 'well known' who's footage I would really enjoy working with. And ****ing A, I wish people would stop IMing me asking me to make 1v1 tages for them, I HATE 1v1 montages, they're so god damn boring.

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.*

editing isnt for everyone..its not like anyone can just pick it up and be creative

i completly understand why people ask for editors..thats how it ****ing works

some people dont have the equipment, creativity, time, to edit ther own shit.....and some people just dont want to get into it..

but they still want a montage...cuz they like playing halo, and they like get pwnzorz clipz......

I only know of 4 or 5 Halo editors who are actually creative... the rest of them just follow the trends and everyone thinks they're ''great''... if you have time to play Halo... you have time to learn to edit, it's really just that simple.

it really isnt that simple...halo and editing are nothing alike...at all....nothing.....halo can keep someone interested, while editing could bore someone to death because maybe thats just not the way they sway

and just because allot of vidz are alike doesnt mean they are creative

i mean..look at films.....thers almost a set way films are made.....the way scenes are carried out, how actors show certain emotions....just because things are similar doesnt mean they are the same......everyone pulls ideas off eachother...

and if you see a vid that you really like..why wouldnt you make your vid similair to it.....you like it that way

ephrum your waaay to harsh on the editing that goes on around here.....i mean..were just peeps playin some halo and makin small vidz on it.

Good films aren't alike, they have different plot lines... they have different/better actors, different characters... different editing to help portrait emotion or to help 'set the mood'... different scenery... etc.

And if someone is 'easily bored' by editing... then I don't really think they should have a montage, if someone's not able to understand the work it takes to create a good and origional Halo 2 montage... then I don't want to edit for them.

Halo 2 montages as of now are absolutely NOTHING like real films... NOOOTHING... Halo 2 montages (for the most part...obviously with very subtle differences) show the same few maps (scenery)... the same kind or type of kills (story or plot line)... in usually similar or the same situation (story or plot line)... and the editing 90% of the time has absolutly NOTHING to do with the game play unless it's syncing the kills to the music... stupid color changes, throwing in the 'lightray' filter here and there as whatever editor feels needed (usually having nothing to do with the music or clip 'styling')...

I will say, you are one of the 5 Halo 2 editors that I actually concider to be 'origional' or 'unique'... your ideas are usually awesome, and origional... so I'm not talking about you.

But my view on the situation stands...
