"AFS Files Are Not Supported" - 05-06-2007, 12:48 AM

Yeah, trying to open files in VDub for practice before I get my CC, how do I change a file from whatever it is to a compatable file, I'm uber noob

Since I use firefox I don't get that nice IE "save as/type THISVIDEOFILE.avi" and it says as AVI, i either open or save

Do I right click save as and type .avi? also will it hurt the quality or anything?

btw yeah I realize it was ASF, can't edit though.

you can convert from anything to AVI through Vegas 6.0 without hurting the quality...do you have it?

if not, just install IE onto your comp so you can get the feature. I mean IE is free ya know.

also i'm not sure if changing the extension file to .avi will work or not. I know it works for some things but not all of them. I haven't tried it for saving movies off the web. but it's worth a try. you can delete if it doesn't work.

Oh no I have vegas 7.0, and Im buying a pinnacle tomorrow, and I was going to use vdub to easily cut my clips to what I want, then edit them in vegas.

Refering to Profen's tutorial, the cutting in VDub looked very simple.

PinkFloyyd, I have a small, easy to use format converter you can have. Hit me up on AIM: Rubberbandit19. It will convert your huge AVI files to small WMV files (or whatever else you want)...

lulz i didn't even think of that!! i totally forget that media converters are free and everywhere. although trying to get a real good one that doesn't hurt quality is really hard.
