Vegas Audio - 05-07-2007, 09:19 AM

This might seem like a silly question :$ But, when i edit vids in vegas, and i leave the halo sounds in and import a music clip, when played, it comes out all distorted and crackling. I know you can change the decibel settings on each audio track, but i'm not sure exactly what to put the settings as, can anyone help me with this? Any help is welcome, cheers. Jaydee

hrm... what are you wanting to do? Your question was quite unclear to me. Are you wanting to clear the sound completely or just make it so it isn't crackling?

Another question. If you open up the video file in WMP rather than Vegas is the audio fine and non-crackling ?

Well, the problem is... say i record a 30 second clip of halo, i import it to vegas, so it has a video track and a an audio track. Then, i import a song, and try to play them together. When i try to play them together, it all goes crackling and distorted and im not sure why, i want it so that you can hear the music playing AND hear the halo sounds aswell clearly. I think i described it as best as possible, and yes, it does stay crackling and distorted after i render and play it in WMP. Any ideas on what to do? lol. Thanks for helping

Post it here and lets see if its crackling for us?

If not, then you should get a new sound card.

What are the settings you are recording your audio at? mhz, etc. Something that usually helps is just turn the decible level down a little.

erm.... In the settings the format is MPEG-1 Layer II and the sampling rate is 44.1kHz 16-Bit Stereo. The bit rate is 224 KBits/sec. Does that help? lol

Can you do anything more than 16 bit stereo, or is that the max? Because increasing that might help.
