Yea it looks more proffesional i think but if you have alot of points and you dont want people to know what the score is you can also do it for that reason, and in the black spots you can put your name or any thing in letters.

It does not make something look more professional at all, how many movies at a theatre have black boxes? How many movies at your hom unless you buy widescreen have black boxes?

It just changes the tone of your montage, I think it originally started so people could hide the game names and scores

Yeah pretty much.

Other people cover it because they are afraid of showing the score in a game they are losing. I've talked to people on AIM that actually bash montages because the person is losing a game of oddball or something. I don't know whether it's worse to be ashamed of the score, or to bash someone's video because of a score.

Most people know the games I play, but I still think it looks better with no score versus one showing 500 to 400. People flame that so I just cover it up. Obviously getting the stuff covered gets flamed too, but I think it can't be flamed as badly since the viewer can't prove anything.

For me though, I don't care what games someone plays as long as the clips they show are difficult for the gametype.

hmm i guess it would be best if your didn't have it there and the gamer types proved that all your clips were actually because of skill and not because of insane luck or some other stupid reason...

They do it to cover the score and/or to make it look better.
The thing is that in a fragvid, the HUD is not something that should be kept. It clutters the screen and it ugly because nobody cares how much ammo you have left. Most games have the option to turn it off and rarely will you see a fragvid with the full HUD. H2 doesnt have that capability unfortunatly
