ok so im capturing in vdub how do i change file size to mpeg so that doesnt take up so much space thx for your help!

lagarith lossless codec is another one that is better than huffyuv. Use it as the compression method during capture. It makes files about 10% smaller than huffyuv so you only need approximately 350 mb/minute of recording.
Be sure to set lagarith to YUY2 mode. Then use the telecide virtualdub plugin filter to deinterlace the video after it's captured. This method gives you pretty much the absolute best quality possible.
