You eventually need a capture card to get it on the computer. Before that though, if you have 2 vcr's (or borrow one), you can hook them to each other and transfer all the best clips to 1 tape. That saves time when you're actually capturing the stuff to computer. Just know that that along with the fact that its on a vcr reduces quality. If you're recording in 2 hour mode (SP) on the tapes you can expect decent quality at 640x480, but the slower tape modes reduce the quality.
