Need Info On Capture Card!!! - 04-18-2006, 01:42 PM

my birthday is coming up and i was wondering about getting a capture card. is there a certain kind with really good quality you guys would suggest? how do they work? and will anyone work or does it have to be for xbox only? will regular work on a xbox 360? srry for all the questions, but i need to kno.

it all depends on how computer savvy you are. if youre comfortable with installing pci cards (its not hard) get an ati wonder pro. theyre 50 bucks and get amazing quality. for that your gonna need some splitters and extra rca cables. therse a tutorial on how to set it up somewhere around here. for externals, dazzle dvc's are popular. i have a 150. if you dont mind spendin money, get that, or do what i did and get it on ebay. its the simplest one, requiring no extra cables or splitters, and my quality is top notch.

Now if your pc is a peice of poo you may want to reconsider getting a cap card. You need all speed that you can get out of your pc to record so you dont drop any frames and get a smooth capture. You will also need many gigs worth of blank hard drive to store the footage. Hopefully though your pc has the specs to handle capturing because I love seeing montages; ESPECIALLY from different peeps. So good luck man.
